On May 28, the 9th International Festival of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, Chengdu, China (hereinafter referred to as the "Intangible Cultural Heritage Festival"), co-organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the People's Government of Sichuan Province, UNESCO, and the National Commission of China for UNESCO, opened at the Chengdu International Intangible Cultural Heritage Expo Park. Ren Yingwei, Secretary of the Party Committee of CDTC, and Liu Li, Vice President, were invited to attend the opening ceremony.

The Intangible Cultural Heritage Festival is themed "Promoting Exchanges and Mutual Learning, Stimulating Inheritance Vitality, and Sharing a Better Life", with a main venue and multiple sub-venues for simultaneous linkage. As the organizer of the Jinmen Silk Town sub-venue in Xindu District, our school deeply participated in the activities of the main venue. The exhibition of our school was led by the Provincial Key Laboratory of Digitalization of Weaving and Embroidery Skills, and jointly promoted by CDTC, the School of Fashion, the School of Creative Arts and more than 60 student volunteers.

At 9 am, the Intangible Cultural Heritage Festival kicked off with the performance of "New Road to Roots". In the "Innovative Clothing Show" of the fourth chapter "Endless Life", the Shu Brocade Haute Couture series of clothing jointly developed by our school's Provincial Key Laboratory of Digital Weaving and Embroidery Skills and the school-enterprise cooperation enterprise Anna Catherine and the graduates' works of the School of Fashion made a stunning appearance.

The "Shu Brocade & Shu Embroidery Digital Innovation Platform" developed by the scientific research team of our school's Provincial Key Laboratory of Digital Weaving and Embroidery Skills covers pattern database management, AI pattern restoration, AI-assisted innovative design and multi-scenario application display, providing a carrier for the digital protection and revitalization of traditional patterns. Shu Brocade Master Ma Zequn demonstrated the "Digital Shu Embroidery Teaching Terminal" on site, allowing the audience to witness the amazing collision of traditional culture and cutting-edge technology. More than 100 pieces of innovative research and training results of intangible cultural heritage, such as Shu Brocade series clothing, bags, accessories, etc., were also exhibited on site.

In the international intangible cultural heritage exhibition area, CDTC cooperated with the French Higher School of Applied Arts Duperet, with the theme of "Unbounded Warp and Weft, Symbiosis of the Silk Road". 20 students from the school participated in the design and production of installation art under the leadership of Hu Xuemei, Vice Dean of the Textile College, and Eric Benque, an independent French designer. This work focuses on the combination of Chinese intangible cultural heritage (textile) and French innovative textile technology, and explores the modern vitality and global expression of traditional crafts through the collaboration of craftsmen from multiple countries.

In the "2025 Chengdu Silk Road Splendor" exhibition area of the Jinmen Silk Town branch venue in Xindu District, the intangible cultural heritage works created by the intangible cultural heritage masters and students of the Provincial Key Laboratory of Digital Weaving and Embroidery Skills of our school have attracted much attention, attracting a large number of citizens and tourists to stop and form a "touchable, participatory, and consumable" intangible cultural heritage dissemination scene.

This exhibition, through the multi-dimensional paths such as the activation of traditional crafts, the empowerment of scientific and technological means, and international exchanges and mutual learning, has injected the momentum of the times into the inheritance of intangible cultural heritage, fully demonstrating the academic accumulation and innovative vitality of our school in the field of intangible cultural heritage protection.
